But it is true that in recent years, many farmers in Dong Nai have had to receive "bitter fruit" because they believe in China's market - the largest market of pigs consumption in Vietnam. The strange thing is that while pigs are consumed domestically, they only weigh 80-100kg / unit, while those from China sell 120-140kg / unit. So if the Chinese market does not import this pig, surely domestic consumption will not be strong because of high fat pigs.

No far off, in the beginning of November, when the floods flooded the central provinces, the transport of pigs to China was congested, Dong Nai's pigs were "flocked" to make farmers extremely miserable. Because the price slipped from 44,000 to 46,000 VND / kg, down to 35,000 to 37,000 VND / kg. At present, Chinese traders have come back to buy pigs but in small amount, the price is only a few thousand dong per kilogram. Le Van Thai, owner of pig meat farm in Vinh Tan Commune, Vinh Cuu District (Dong Nai Province), complained: "In the past 3 years, the price of pigs has always been high, so I increased the herd from 200 to 350 pigs. meat. But unexpectedly last season, due to torrential rain, the price suddenly dropped, for every pig to sell losses of 400,000 to 500,000. At the end of the year, if the price does not rise again as before, the farm will raise as much as possible. At present, the demand of the market in Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City only consumes more than 5,500 pigs per day, equivalent to 500 tons; Also exported to China nearly 300 tons per day, if China stopped buying, the number is only known for the Ho Chi Minh City market.

As noted, due to the experience, the owners of large livestock farms do not massively increase the Tet Lunar New Year as in previous years. However, the supply for Tet market is still plentiful from small scale producers, because the period from 2013 to 2016 is quite profitable, so the total number of pigs is always in the status "next year higher than last year" . In the domestic market, many experts estimate pig prices may fall into the low season from 2017, after a period of hot growth; But the fact that pigs are falling into the cooling cycle is earlier than anticipated.

Mr. Nguyen Kim Doan, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Livestock Association, said that all the predictions of the State management agencies said that the demand for pork meat would increase during the Tet holiday, thus pushing up prices. But the past few years have shown that this is not true. Accordingly, on the traditional Lunar New Year, the demand for pork of households has increased compared to weekdays; On the contrary, an important source of daily consumption is the large number of workers, students, and pupils who are reduced to returning home for Tet. In addition, the majority of pork processing enterprises have also built business plans in the past to actively source materials. In particular, many businesses import meat from abroad so the demand for cattle and poultry consumption in general will be stable during the Tet holiday, not surprisingly, especially in terms of price.

According to the Dong Nai Animal Husbandry Association, the price of wild boar in the province is 42,000 VND / kg. At this price, the farmers only about 1,000 VND / kg, not enough to cover the hard work.
