The project consists of three main components:

Results of component 1 implementation (comprehensive management of animal waste):
Organized a wide range of information and communication activities on the project such as: Organizing 76 communal communication workshops on comprehensive management of animal waste and the benefits of installing and constructing gas works. Biology for over 3000 participants; Has printed 10,000 flyers, nearly 4000 posters, over 1,000 propagation helmets on the project. Coordinated with the radio and television of the province and the city to carry out 25 radio and television broadcasting coverage to all villages.
There have been 17 training courses for nearly 600 trainees, including extension workers and key farmers, farm owners, farms with large scale raising techniques of wormworm raising and composting Organic production.
Organized 66 training courses on operation and maintenance of biogas works for more than 2,300 students who are owners of biogas works.
During the implementation of the project, the Lao Cai PPMU coordinated well with the Farmers' Association, Women's Union, Animal Husbandry Department and Agricultural Extension Center to propagandize and mobilize people to participate in the project.
At present, there are 5 companies supplying and installing biogas with Composite materials, including Green Environment Company, Thanh Dat Company, Hung Viet Company, Hung Vuong Company and Royal Company. 10 biogas builders, KT1, KT2. Up to 30/12/2016, the province has built / installed 2,128 biogas plants (reaching nearly 80% of the whole project). It has provided financial support to 2,091 small scale biogas plants in districts and city with the amount of 3,000,000 VND per small-scale biogas plant.
Results of Component 2 (Credit for biogas value chains) The PMU has collaborated with the Lao Cai Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) of 235 poor households with disbursed loans of VND5,163 billion
Component 3 implementation results: Low-carbon agricultural technology transfer. Three study tours were organized for lowland agriculture in Binh Dinh, Ha Tinh, Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Tien Giang and Ben Tre.
The PMU has selected the model using household-scale biogas generator and the model using farm scale portable separator.
After 3 years of implementation, the project has built 2128 works have direct financial support and technical support for more than 2,000 owners of biogas works, the indirect benefit number is many times greater. Results of construction and installation of small scale biogas plants reached 79% of the plan for the period 2013-2018. The project has had a great impact, raising awareness and awareness of farmers about environmental protection, improving the quality of life of their families through the use of biogas and fertilizers from water. Discharge biogas works, microorganic organic fertilizer .... At the same time has contributed positively in the movement to build new countryside, especially the implementation of environmental criteria.
