With impressive growth in production in 2016, the livestock industry expects to export strongly in 2017. Mr Hoang Thanh Van, Director of the Department of Livestock Production, said that when looking at the picture of the industry in 2016,

Urgently bring livestock products to countries

According to Hoang Thanh Van, the export of livestock products of Vietnam so far apart from a few traditional products such as honey, salted duck eggs, milk pork ... recently, also began to add new products. Such as animal feed (TAT), pork, milk ... are exported to the country.

Mr. Hoang Thanh Van, Director of Livestock Department.

Although each year, we import a lot of raw materials, but recently Vietnam has also exported (with an estimated output of 500 thousand tons in 2016) mixed feed, in addition to a large amount of feed ingredients such as bran, Cassava and tapioca ... We have also exported to many countries in the region ...

For pork, in 2016 has recorded a dramatic increase in exports of pork products with a 40% increase compared to 2015, can reach about 100 thousand tons in 2016.

However, up to this point, the export of livestock products has not yet become a spearhead in the structure of major agricultural sectors. This is one of the issues that the agriculture sector in general as well as MARD is disturbed and has set the resolve to remove it in the coming time to turn the product into a spearhead export.

Recently, under the direction of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has assigned specialized agencies of the agriculture sector to work, negotiate and sign with some countries in the region (especially China National) to make veterinary agreements on which to promote official export of some major livestock products, first of all milk and pork products.

The Department of Animal Husbandry is also actively coordinating with the Department of Animal Health to sign veterinary agreements with some countries to soon open the export market for animal products.

The local boiling in the game

By the end of 2016, many other positive signals have been and are many local and animal associations in the country to promote the promotion of early export of animal products to export markets.

Livestock production is expected to accelerate in 2017

Recently, leaders of Dong Nai People's Committee - a key province in the south of the province have been working with the leaders of MARD to discuss ways to open chicken export markets to Japan. It is expected that on 20/12/2016, the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc will organize a great conference to build the chain of animal products and export to some markets.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the Hi-Tech Agriculture Association of Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta region and many big companies in the southern breeding industry will also organize upcoming big events to discuss options for exporting animal products. Pork, poultry, eggs ... to countries. This is a very good signal that in 2017, exporting animal products of our country will certainly have a very strong breakthrough.

In particular, large enterprises in the breeding industry have enough potentials, enough strength will be the big pioneers in the export. These will be the "traction" for the whole sector follow, bringing the livestock industry Vietnam open to the world market in the coming years.

According to Hoang Thanh Van, one of the weak points should focus on reforming in the future to support the export of livestock products, which is the link production and operation of associations and associations in the industry.

Mr. Van said: The role of associations and associations in the livestock sector is still weak and not yet evident, except the Association of Tatu seems a bit more exciting. Other associations in the livestock sector are mostly loose, members in general are not enthusiastic, especially the "big brothers" in the industry have not participated in the business has not had a business head. The livestock sector will have to reorganize the association and its association closely to the realities, especially in the context of emerging international markets.

Accordingly, associations and associations must be viewed as a vital issue of the industry, a must for growth, not a place to participate in the review of meetings.

"We have been going to developed countries for livestock, working with associations and associations, which is the place to decide everything about production, technical management, market organization ... rather than tables. Hand of the state "- Mr. Van cited.

"Another highlight of the livestock sector in 2016 is that there has been a very positive shift in market perceptions in the stockholder itself. In order to raise livestock and then leave for traders, by 2016, it is easy to see that most farmers have gradually approached the bosses, meaning that they turn to take initiative in catching the market first. To return to the production organization later. " (Mr. Hoang Thanh Van).

It is possible to export 1-2 million tons of pork per year. At the meeting with MARD agencies and agencies in the southern provinces (October 6, 2016), Minister of Ministry of Agriculture -Nguyen Nguyen Xuan Cuong said that our total pig population is about 28 million. Of which, 55% of porker production was raised on medium to large farms. In addition to domestic consumption, pork meat is being exported to China with a volume of over 300 thousand tons per year. If negotiations are officially exported to the country, each year our swine sector can export 1-2 million tons of pork.
